Bhubaneswar: The Shooting League of India (SLI), India’s nascent franchise-based shooting league, has been rescheduled to kick off in early 2026, with the National Rifle Association of India (NRAI) stepping up preparations via strategic stakeholder meetings.
Originally slated for late 2025, organizers have opted to push the timeline to ensure better alignment with the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) calendar, smoother coordination among athletes, franchise owners, and broadcast partners.
During a visit to Mumbai, NRAI President Kalikesh Narayan Singh Deo met with representatives of the Delhi and Mumbai franchises at the Worli Shooting Range. The agenda encompassed team building, athlete onboarding, marketing plans, venue readiness, and technical and logistical support from the federation.
Deo called the meeting a “promising milestone,” stating, “The SLI is one of its kind globally … we are confident it will lead in technological innovation and expand the sport’s popularity even further.”
