FC Barcelona and Club Brugge played out a thrilling 3-3 draw in the UEFA Champions League. Matchday 4 of the Champions League 2025/26 saw the two sides clash at the Jan Breydelstadion. Notably, Barca came from behind on three occasions in the contest to draw level in this classic.

Both sides will take a point but the feeling will be what if as they had chances to win the contest.

Barca hold Club Brugge 3-3

The match was a rollercoaster ride, with both teams taking the lead and equalizing multiple times. Ferran Torres and Lamine Yamal were the scorers for Barcelona, while an own goal deflected off Tresoldi also contributed to their tally.

The match started with Barcelona dominating possession but failing to convert their chances into goals. Club Brugge, on the other hand, capitalized on their opportunities. Nicolo Tresoldi scored for Brugge in the 6th minute after a quick counterattack, catching Barcelona’s defense off guard. Torres then equalized just two minutes later with a close-range finish from Fermin Lopez’s assist.

Just 17 minutes into the match, Club Brugge struck again through Carlos Forbs. Despite falling behind again, Barcelona responded well and created pressure throughout the first half. Fermin and Jules Kounde both hit the woodwork but it was Yamal who leveled things up after halftime with a brilliant defense-splitting run and an equally impressive finish.

After Lamine Yamal’s equalizer, Club Brugge took the lead for a third time through Forbs in the 63rd minute. However, Barcelona quickly responded with another goal that was deflected off Tresoldi’s head, officially recorded as an own goal, leveling things up once again at 3-3. Despite late drama including a disallowed goal for Brugge due to a foul on goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny, both teams settled for a point each in this thrilling encounter.

Where do the two teams stand?

Despite the draw, Barcelona’s hopes of qualifying for the knockout stage remain alive as they sit in 11th place. Hansi Flick’s men have collected 7 points from 4 matches. On the other hand, Club Brugge own 4 points from as many matches and are placed 22nd in the standings.

Which records were made in this six-goal thriller?

As per Opta, Club Brugge’s Forbs aged 21 years and 231 days became the youngest player to both score and assist in a Champions League match against Barcelona. Forbs managed to surpass the previous record scripted by David Beckham  at Old Trafford in September 1998 (23y 137d).

Barcelona shipped in two goals in just 16 minutes and 35 seconds against Club Brugge. This is the earliest the Catalans have been two goals down in a UEFA Champions League match.
