The New York Knicks moved within touching distance of their first NBA Finals appearance in more than two decades after defeating the Cleveland Cavaliers 121-108 in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Finals on Friday night.
Led by Jalen Brunson’s impressive 30-point performance, the Knicks produced another dominant display to secure a 3-0 lead in the best-of-seven series. Mikal Bridges added 22 points, while OG Anunoby contributed 21 as New York continued its strong playoff run.
Fast Start Sets The Tone
Playing in Cleveland, the Knicks started aggressively and took control early with a high-scoring first quarter. Their sharp shooting and quick ball movement constantly troubled the Cavaliers’ defense, allowing New York to maintain the advantage throughout the contest.
The visitors also received an important late-game contribution from Landry Shamet, whose three crucial three-pointers in the fourth quarter ended Cleveland’s hopes of a comeback.
Cavaliers Struggle Under Pressure
For Cleveland, Evan Mobley scored 24 points and Donovan Mitchell added 23, but the home side struggled to slow down New York’s attacking rhythm. Defensive mistakes and missed perimeter shots proved costly during key moments of the game.
The Cavaliers now face an enormous challenge, as no NBA team has ever recovered from a 3-0 deficit in a playoff series.
Knicks Eye Historic Return
The victory puts the Knicks just one win away from reaching the NBA Finals for the first time since 1999. With confidence growing and momentum fully on their side, New York will look to finish the series in Game 4.
