Dubai, UAE – The highly anticipated Spinneys Dubai 92 Cycle Challenge is set to return for its 16th edition, promising another thrilling season for cycling enthusiasts. Following a record-breaking 15th edition that saw over 3,300 participants take to the streets, the event continues to grow as one of the Middle East’s premier road cycling races.
Key Dates and Locations for 2025-2026 Season
The main event weekend is scheduled for Friday, February 14, and Saturday, February 15, 2026, with the 92km main challenge taking place on Sunday, February 15, 2026, at Expo City Dubai. Family-friendly events, including Junior Rides and the Outride/Family Fun Ride, will be held on Saturday, February 14, 2026.
All four crucial Build-Up Rides (BURs) leading up to the grand finale will be held at the Al Qudra Cycle Track:
- Build-Up Ride 1: 35km – Sunday, September 28, 2025
- Build-Up Ride 2: 45km – Sunday, October 26, 2025
- Build-Up Ride 3: 65km – Sunday, November 23, 2025
- Build-Up Ride 4: 85km – Sunday, January 4, 2026
UCI Gran Fondo Qualifier and the Road to Japan
The Spinneys Dubai 92 Cycle Challenge continues to serve as a qualifier for the 2026 UCI Gran Fondo World Series Championship, attracting cyclists from around the globe. The top 25 percent of participants in each age category will earn a coveted spot in the finals, which are scheduled to take place in Niseko, Japan, from August 26-30, 2026. This marks a historic occasion as it’s the first time the UCI Gran Fondo World Championships will be held in Asia.
The Aster BIG 5 Competition: A Comprehensive Training Roadmap
The opening of registration for the event also marks the commencement of the popular Aster BIG 5 competition. This series is comprised of the four Build-Up Rides and culminates in the 92km main event, providing participants with a structured roadmap to gradually build their speed and endurance on the Al Qudra cycling tracks.
- Leader Jersey: The first male and female riders from each category in the Aster BIG 5 will receive an iconic and exclusive leader jersey, signifying their status as the top rider leading into each subsequent Build-Up Ride.
- Team Category: The Team Category also remains, allowing cyclists to join forces and compete as a squad of six, fostering camaraderie and competitive spirit.
Held in partnership with Dubai Sports Council, Spinneys, and Dubai 92, the Spinneys Dubai 92 Cycle Challenge is renowned as one of the Middle East’s premier road cycling races, consistently drawing thousands of riders from all over the world.
