Rishabh Pant: England’s Worst Nightmare as Manchester Test Looms

Bhubaneswar : Former Indian cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar has delivered high praise for Rishabh Pant, characterizing him as “a batter who England fear” on the eve of the crucial fourth Test in the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy 2025. As India and England prepare for the showdown at Old Trafford, Pant’s electric form and fearless approach have made him the central figure England’s bowlers are desperate to solve.

Pant’s Blazing Series So Far

Outstanding numbers: Pant has amassed 425 runs at an average of 70.83 through the first three Tests.

Match-defining knocks: He has registered two centuries and two fifties, consistently changing the game’s momentum in India’s favor.

Middle-order rock: As the backbone of India’s middle-order, Pant’s counter-attacking style has repeatedly dented England’s confidence and plans.

Manjrekar’s Big Statement

Sanjay Manjrekar didn’t mince words in his assessment of Pant:

“Rishabh Pant will play in his way no matter what the situation is. He should get that license because he deserves it.”

The former Test star asserted that Pant’s positive intent and audacious shot-making unsettle England like no other batter in the series.

What Makes Pant Unstoppable

Unorthodox brilliance: Pant’s willingness to attack, even under pressure, makes him uniquely dangerous.Setting new benchmarks: He surpassed MS Dhoni for most hundreds by an Indian wicket-keeper with his century at Leeds, simultaneously notching his third century in England.License to thrill: Manjrekar advocates giving Pant full freedom to play his natural game, arguing his risk-taking is what makes him special and so valuable to the side.

All Eyes on Old Trafford

With the series finely poised, Pant’s ability to dominate bowlers could decide the outcome at Manchester. England’s bowlers are acutely aware: stop Pant, or risk another game slipping away.

As India aims to cement its advantage, Rishabh Pant stands as the man England most dread facing at the crease.
