West Indies thumped Pakistan by 202 runs in the 3rd and final ODI of the 3-match series in Tarouba, Trinidad. With this win, the West Indies cricket team won its 4th successive bilateral ODI series on home soil. Having gone down 1-0 in the series, West Indies fought back to claim the 2nd and 3rd match.
The final ODI saw pacer Jayden Seales stun Pakistan. The pacer was massive as he set the tone for his side by picking 4 wickets in his opening spell and leaving the visitors reeling at 23/4 in the 9th over. Seales ended with six wickets for 18 runs from 7.2 overs. Seales’ wickets included Pakistan’s top 4 batters which had stalwarts Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan.
Pakistan perished for a score of 92 in a chase of 295, posting their 4th-lowest total against West Indies in ODIs.
Seales, who was adjudged the Player of the Series, made history for West Indies. He recorded the best bowling figures for the Windies against Pakistan in ODIs, breaking a 25-year-old record of Franklyn Rose, who picked 5/23 in Kingston back in April 2000, as per ESPNcricinfo.
Seales also became the 5th West Indian bowler to take a five-wicket haul for WI against Pakistan in ODIs.
