Dear Readers,

We believe sports is a philosophy of life that combines in a balanced whole the qualities of body, will and mind. By blending sport with culture and education, we can achieve sustainable development of not just an individual or a nation but for the entire world. It unifies the most diversified aspects of lives. This same spirit is
reflected by the Olympic Games. The goal of the Olympic Movement is to contribute to building a peaceful and better world by educating youth through sport practiced without discrimination of any kind and in the Olympic spirit. It encourages mutual understanding with a spirit of friendship, solidarity and fair play.Sport Science India salutes this spirit. Therefore, our current i dedicated to the upcoming Summer Olympics 2024 at Paris. Prior to the games, get an insight into what’s new this time. Our curtain raiser on Olympics also provides information on India’s participation, besides a lot more. The cover story is dedicated to a story of resilience and determination of national volleyball coach, GE Sridharan, who was once rejected from playing the sport as he couldn’t meet the height criteria. From the early rejection to having a career spanning over 20 years in playing the sport at the national and international level and later training sportspersons, his story is truly inspirational. In the season of Olympics, we also turn the focus on doping through one of our articles. Besides, a case study has been incorporated to highlight how open surgery helped cure the swollen knees of a patient. We wish our readers a happy and fruitful reading time.
