At the Hobart International tennis tournament, Emma Raducanu will have to return to court on Wednesday after rain stopped her first-round match on Tuesday.
Osorio fights back
World number 82 Camila Osorio improved in the second set. She hit four winners in the first game and used clever drop shots to break Raducanu’s serve.
Osorio also looked uncomfortable as she was coughing during the match.
Rain interrupts again
After a 30-minute break, both players came back but played only two points before rain stopped the match again, “according to BBC Sport reports.”
Raducanu showed good forehand shots but struggled with Osorio’s drop shots. She also lost her rhythm after the first rain delay.
“I felt I was playing well in tough conditions, but the breaks made it hard to keep rhythm,”
Raducanu told “BBC Sport”.
Australian Open preparation
The 23-year-old is playing her last tournament before the Australian Open starts on Sunday. Her off-season was affected by a foot injury.
The match will continue on Wednesday.
The winner will face Poland’s Magdalena Frech in the quarter-finals.
Frech reached the next round after beating Elsa Jacquemot 6-4, 6-0, “as per BBC Sport statistics.”
