A New Era of Sporting Recognition
SSI Awards 2025 is gearing up to become one of India’s most influential sports celebrations—an event where athletic grit meets cutting-edge sports science. Scheduled for 6 December 2025 at Kalinga Stadium, Bhubaneswar, this year’s edition carries a bigger purpose: recognising excellence across disciplines while showcasing how Sports Science India (SSI) is reshaping India’s performance ecosystem.
Why SSI Awards Stand Out
At a time when Indian sport is rapidly globalising, the SSI Sports Awards has carved a space of its own—not by glitz, but by grounding recognition in performance, welfare, and scientific excellence. From grassroots prospects to elite international athletes, the awards champion those who push boundaries both on and off the field.
The Rise of SSI Sports Awards: A Platform Built on Purpose
Founded in the early 2020s, the SSI Sports Awards emerged from SSI’s deep association with athletes across India, especially Odisha—a state increasingly known for its sports-first culture.
The awards were designed with a clear intention: to honour performance, commitment, sportsmanship, and the invisible ecosystem of coaches, physios, trainers, and support staff who shape champions.
Over the years, the platform has expanded its categories to include emerging athletes, para-athletes, grassroots contributors, academies, and federations.

A Look Back: 2023 & 2024 Editions
2023 Edition
The inaugural years laid a strong foundation by recognising athletes from athletics, hockey, weightlifting, football, table tennis, and more. Athlete welfare and sports medicine were strong narrative themes—reflecting SSI’s core values.

2024 Edition
Growing in scale, the 2024 awards saw broader participation from national teams, SAI academies, Odisha’s high-performance centres, and international-level performers. The ceremony deepened its emphasis on mental conditioning, injury prevention, and rehabilitation—areas where SSI has established its leadership.

2025 Edition: Bigger, Broader, and More Inclusive
The upcoming 2025 edition at the iconic Kalinga Stadium—a global venue for hockey and youth football—promises to be the largest yet.
With entries spanning national and international performances between 2024–25, this year’s awards are set to spotlight breakthrough talent and celebrate those driving Indian sport into a new era.
Key themes for 2025 include:
- Celebrating resilience and breakthrough performances
• Recognising the science behind sport—injury prevention, mental strength, and recovery
• Highlighting the contribution of Odisha as a rising sports powerhouse
