Rising rugby star Noah Caluori will make his first start for England A when they face an All Blacks XV at Bath’s Recreation Ground on Saturday — a key step toward potential senior Test selection.
The 19-year-old Saracens wing has been one of the season’s breakout talents, scoring six tries in just 199 Premiership minutes — including an astonishing five-try haul on his first league start against Sale.
Though initially included in England’s autumn internationals squad, Caluori was not picked for the senior side to face Fiji this weekend. Instead, he’ll start ahead of Leicester’s Adam Radwan for the second-string clash — a move seen as part of his development path under head coach Steve Borthwick, who has called him an “exciting talent.”
Standing 6ft 4in with a powerful aerial game, Caluori has earned praise from teammate Owen Farrell, who called his ball-recovery ability “nuts.”
Exeter’s Ethan Roots captains the side, while Bath’s Max Ojomoh starts at inside centre and provides fly-half cover. Bristol skipper Fitz Harding is in line for his first England representation from the bench, alongside Bath’s young front-rowers Kepu Tuipulotu and Vilikesa Sela.
Saturday’s match offers England’s next generation — and Caluori in particular — a golden opportunity to impress on the big stage.
