Commonwealth Heavyweight Champion and Fit India Icon Sangram Singh is all set to return to the global fighting stage, this time stepping into the mixed martial arts arena against Tunisia’s Hakim Trabelsi in Amsterdam on November 2, 2025.
The high-profile bout, organized under the Levels Fight League (LFL) banner, will mark Singh’s long-awaited return to competitive combat sports. Known for his wrestling background and fitness advocacy, Singh said the fight is “not just about winning — it’s about proving that fitness has no age limit.”
“I’ve always believed discipline and dedication can defy age. This fight is about inspiring people to stay fit, stay motivated, and never give up,” Singh said at a press meet in New Delhi.
Now 40, the Commonwealth gold medallist emphasized that his focus remains on stamina and endurance rather than brute strength. “If I can survive the first few minutes, I’ll control the fight,” he said confidently.
Trabelsi, a younger and technically versatile fighter, has acknowledged Singh’s wrestling pedigree and described him as “a respected opponent who brings passion and heart to the ring.”
Singh’s coach added that the Indian athlete’s training regimen has been intense, blending wrestling drills with modern MMA conditioning. “His mental strength is his biggest weapon,” the coach said.
The LFL bout will be broadcast live in the Netherlands and streamed globally on the league’s official YouTube channel, giving fans across India and abroad a chance to witness Singh’s MMA debut.
For Singh, this fight goes beyond the ring — it’s a statement of resilience and the power of staying fit, regardless of age. As he put it, “This isn’t about proving anything to others. It’s about proving to yourself that you can still fight — in sport, and in life.”
