Bhubaneshwar – India concluded its campaign at the ISSF Junior World Cup in Delhi by leading the medals table The Indian contingent secured an impressive total of 26 medals, consisting of eight gold, 10 silver, and eight bronze.
The Individual Neutral Athlete (AIN) group finished second with 5 gold, 3 silver, and 4 bronze. Italy came in third with 2 gold, 2 silver, and 1 bronze. Other countries that won gold included Czechia (two) and Croatia (one). Spain, Finland, Cyprus, and Iran also featured on the final medals table.
Final Day Performances and Medals
The competition’s final day, held at the Dr. Karni Singh Range, Tughlakabad, saw India win one more gold medal.
- Men’s Sports Pistol Gold: India secured a consolation gold in the non-Olympic 25m Sports Pistol Junior Men’s event through Mukesh Nelavalli, who topped the field with a score of Teammate Sahil Choudhary also took bronze.
- Tejaswani Wins Silver: In the Sports Pistol Junior Women event, India’s Tejaswani won the silver medal. Despite qualifying as the topper () and being tied with Aleksandra Tikhonova (AIN) at – late in the final, Tejaswani ultimately lost the gold-medal match -. Two other Indian shooters, Naamya Kapoor and Riya Thatte, also made the final, finishing fourth and fifth, respectively.
- Mixed Trap Near Miss: In the Mixed Trap event, the Indian pair of Addya Katyal and Arjun shot a combined, missing out on a chance to compete for a medal by just a single point.
