McAtee Deal Agreed With Manchester City
Forest have reached an agreement with Manchester City to sign 22-year-old James McAtee, with the package including buy-back and sell-on clauses for the Premier League champions.
A product of City’s academy, McAtee made 34 senior appearances for the club after two loan spells at Sheffield United, where he helped them win promotion and battle in the top flight. He is expected to play a key role in Forest’s midfield as they prepare for the Europa League this season.
Hutchinson Transfer Nears Completion
The Midlands club are also closing in on the capture of Omari Hutchinson from Ipswich Town for around £37.5 million.
Hutchinson, who previously came through Chelsea’s ranks, impressed in Ipswich’s first season back in the Premier League. Forest have improved their bid after an earlier £35 million offer was turned down, with personal terms already agreed. Chelsea are in line for a sell-on payment as part of the deal.
Further Ambitious Targets
Forest’s summer recruitment drive continues beyond McAtee and Hutchinson. They have made enquiries for Juventus midfielder Douglas Luiz and are in talks with Rennes over striker Arnaud Kalimuendo. These moves would further strengthen their squad depth ahead of a European campaign.
Securing Existing Talent
In addition to incoming transfers, Forest are negotiating a new contract with Callum Hudson-Odoi, who has entered the final year of his current deal. The 24-year-old contributed five goals and two assists last season and remains a valued part of the team’s attacking options.
A Statement Of Intent
With McAtee and Hutchinson poised to join alongside recent signings Dan Ndoye, Igor Jesus, and Jair Cunha, Nottingham Forest are signalling their ambition to compete strongly in both domestic and European competitions.
