German giants plot future beyond Kane with interest in Cruzeiro forward
Bayern Munich are setting their sights on Brazilian striker Kaio Jorge as a potential long-term solution to their forward line, signaling the club’s continued commitment to succession planning beyond current talisman Harry Kane.
The 23-year-old, currently with Brazilian side Cruzeiro, has caught the eye of Bayern’s scouts thanks to his explosive pace, sharp instincts in front of goal, and intelligent off-the-ball movement. Once considered one of Brazil’s brightest youth talents at Santos, Kaio Jorge made the leap to Europe with Juventus in 2021. However, his time in Italy was disrupted by injuries and loan spells, leading to a return to Brazil where he has rediscovered his form.
Sources close to the club reveal that Bayern have initiated preliminary contact with Kaio Jorge’s representatives. Though no formal bid has been placed yet, interest is real and growing. With Kane in his early 30s and contracted through 2027, Bayern are keen to groom a young, dynamic striker who can eventually take over the reins up front.
Kaio Jorge has been pivotal for Cruzeiro this season, showing a maturity in his game that was missing during his early European stint. His movement between the lines, ability to press high, and technical finesse have made him one of the standout performers in the Brazilian domestic league.
However, acquiring him won’t be straightforward. Cruzeiro are reportedly not inclined to sell, having only recently secured the striker on a long-term deal. Any move would likely require a significant offer, potentially upwards of €25 million, and assurances about Kaio’s development path in Munich.
For Bayern, the move makes strategic sense. With limited top-tier center-forwards available on the market and several European clubs also eyeing next-gen talent, identifying a prospect like Kaio Jorge early gives the Bavarian club a valuable edge. Whether this interest will lead to a formal transfer attempt remains to be seen, but it’s clear Bayern are thinking ahead.
In the post-Lewandowski era, Bayern Munich’s hunt for the “next nine” continues—and Kaio Jorge might just be the heir apparent.
