New Zealand batter Tim Seifert‘s blistering century helped St Lucia Kings register a six-wicket win over Antigua and Barbuda Falcons in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2025 season. The Falcons scored 204/4 in 20 overs, riding on Shakib Al Hasan’s 26-ball 61. In the run-chase, Seifert’s majestic 125* saw the Kings chase down a 205-run target in just 17.5 overs. The match was played at Gros Islet.

With this win, the Kings have climbed to the top of the table while handing the Falcons their second consecutive defeat in this global T20 cricket tournament.

Joint-fastest ton in CPL

Interestingly, Seifert smashed the joint-fastest ton in CPL history (by balls), as per ESPNcricinfo. He equalled the record of Andre Russell, who took 40 balls for his ton in 2018 while playing for Jamaica Tallawahs against Trinbago Knight Riders. Russell helped his side chase down a 224-run target. He smashed 121* from 49 balls with 6 fours and 13 sixes.

A look at the chase

The Kings began their chase aggressively, with Seifert hitting a six off the first legal delivery of the innings. Johnson Charles also started on a strong note before perishing. They added 40 runs inside three overs. Thereafter, Ackeem Auguste joined Seifert and the two added 52 runs inside the powerplay.

This score of 92 is this season’s highest PP score and also third-highest in CPL history.

In the 13th over, Seifert completed his hundred off 40 balls shortly after Roston Chase was dismissed (133/3). Alongside Tim David, Seifert added 49 runs before sealing the chase.
