Reece James Undergoes Knee Surgery, Chelsea Confirm
Chelsea captain Reece James has undergone knee surgery after picking up an injury during a training session, the Premier League club confirmed on Friday.
Chelsea described the procedure as minor but did not disclose the exact nature of the injury or provide a timeline for the 26-year-old defender’s return.
James Begins Rehabilitation At Cobham
The England international has struggled with recurring knee and hamstring problems in recent seasons. A hamstring injury also ruled him out of part of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Chelsea said James had already begun his recovery and would receive support from the club’s medical department at their Cobham training base.
The club wished its captain a speedy recovery and said it would support him throughout his rehabilitation.
Chelsea Face Everton Without Confirmed Return Date
Chelsea, currently sixth in the Premier League, are scheduled to travel to Everton on Saturday.
With no official recovery timeframe announced, James’ availability for upcoming fixtures remains uncertain.
