Israeli Olympic champion Artem Dolgopyat delivered another statement performance on the international stage, clinching gold in the floor exercise at the season-opening FIG Artistic Gymnastics World Cup in Cottbus, Germany.
Dolgopyat topped the final with a score of 14.500, showcasing the blend of difficulty and clean execution that has defined his career. The victory marked a strong start to the 2026 World Cup campaign, which is being contested under a newly introduced scoring code designed by the International Gymnastics Federation. The revised system places greater emphasis on execution and refined artistry — areas that played to the Israeli gymnast’s strengths.
While seven Israeli gymnasts advanced to apparatus finals in Cottbus, Dolgopyat was the only one to reach the podium, underlining both the depth of Israel’s participation and his continued status as the nation’s leading figure in the sport.
The gold adds to an already glittering résumé for Dolgopyat, who famously captured Israel’s first Olympic gymnastics title at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics with his floor exercise triumph. Since then, he has remained a consistent presence at the top level, regularly contending for medals at major international meets.
With the World Cup season now underway, Dolgopyat’s performance in Cottbus signals that he remains firmly among the sport’s elite — and a serious contender as the road to future global championships gathers pace.
