Hobart: Australia captain Alyssa Healy produced a memorable farewell in One-Day International cricket, scoring a brilliant century in her final ODI as Australia posted a massive 409/7 against India in the third ODI in Hobart on Sunday.
Playing her last ODI before retirement from the format, the wicketkeeper-batter smashed 158 off just 98 deliveries, an innings studded with 18 fours. The 35-year-old reached her hundred in only 79 balls, registering her eighth ODI century and third against India. She accelerated further after the milestone and raced to 150 before being dismissed by Sneh Rana, recording her second-highest score in the format.
Healy received a warm send-off from the Indian players, who formed a guard of honour when she walked out to bat, a gesture that reflected the immense respect she commands in women’s cricket. The innings also took her tally to 3,619 runs in ODI cricket, underlining her long-standing contribution as both batter and wicketkeeper.
Australia’s dominance with the bat continued as Beth Mooney remained unbeaten on 106, while Georgia Voll added 62 and Nicola Carey chipped in with an unbeaten 33, helping the hosts post a formidable total of 409/7, one of their highest scores against India in women’s ODIs.
Healy, who made her international debut in 2010, has scored more than 3000 runs in each white-ball format and 489 runs in Test cricket. The upcoming one-off Test against India in Perth from March 6 to 9 will be the final match of her international career, bringing an end to one of the most successful journeys in women’s cricket.
Notably, her last ODI centuries came in consecutive matches, including hundreds against Bangladesh and India during the 2025 Women’s ODI World Cup, making her farewell knock a fitting conclusion to a remarkable career.
