Tottenham Hotspur have been accused by their supporters’ trust of selectively editing the official minutes from a recent fans’ meeting.
The Tottenham Hotspur Supporters’ Trust (THST) met club representatives, including chief executive Vinai Venkatesham, on 3 February — eight days before manager Thomas Frank was sacked.
Claims Of Omitted Concerns
THST say the version of the minutes published by the club excluded key sections, including:
-
Fans’ concerns about the risk of relegation from the Premier League
-
Comments that belief generated from winning the Europa League had been “lost”
-
A line stating the board “welcomed the input of THST”
The Trust stressed that transparency is central to its role as a democratic body representing supporters.
“Publishing a full record of the points raised helps ensure accountability and allows members, and the wider fan base, to understand how the Trust is fulfilling its role,” the group said.
Club Yet To Respond
BBC Sport has approached Tottenham Hotspur for comment, but the club has not yet responded publicly.
Spurs are currently 16th in the Premier League, five points above the relegation zone after seven wins this season. On Friday, they appointed Igor Tudor as interim head coach until the end of the campaign.
While the published minutes did include discussions around youth development, financial sustainability and maintaining the club’s playing identity, THST maintains that the document was not presented in full.
The dispute adds further tension during a challenging season for Spurs both on and off the pitch.
