Veteran Hockey Star Responds To Speculation
Senior India hockey player and former captain Manpreet Singh has finally addressed the rumours surrounding his absence from the national squad. After being excluded from the list of probables for the upcoming FIH Pro League, speculation arose suggesting disciplinary issues behind the decision.
Manpreet, however, made it clear that his omission had nothing to do with misconduct and was instead a personal call taken after discussions with the team management.
Manpreet Explains Reason Behind Temporary Break
The experienced midfielder revealed that the decision was driven by the need to rest following a packed international calendar. He highlighted the physical and mental toll of continuous tournaments since the Paris Olympics and said the break would allow him to recover and spend time with his family.
With major personal milestones over the past year, Manpreet stressed the importance of balancing professional commitments and personal well-being.
Strong Denial Of Disciplinary Allegations
Addressing rumours head-on, Manpreet firmly rejected claims linking his absence to disciplinary action or any off-field issues. He expressed gratitude towards Hockey India and the coaching staff for respecting his decision and supporting his need for rest.
Focus On Comeback And Future Goals
While stepping away temporarily, Manpreet reaffirmed his commitment to Indian hockey and his desire to return refreshed and stronger. He wished the national team success in the upcoming Pro League matches and made it clear that this break marks a pause, not an end, to his international career.
