Luka Doncic produced a stunning performance in just 20 first-half minutes as the Los Angeles Lakers powered past the Washington Wizards with a 142-111 victory on Friday.
The 26-year-old dominated from the opening quarter, scoring 26 points by half-time and completing a triple-double before the main break. He showed no signs of discomfort after suffering a fall in Cleveland earlier this week.
Strong support from senior players
Doncic finished the game with 37 points and 13 assists, leading the Lakers to their second-highest total of the season.
Deandre Ayton played a key role in the paint with 28 points and 13 rebounds, while LeBron James added 20 points and six assists to keep the pressure on Washington throughout the match.
Wizards struggle to keep pace
Washington failed to match the Lakers’ intensity and saw their three-match winning streak come to an end.
Despite earlier wins over Portland and Milwaukee, the Wizards were unable to recover after falling behind heavily in the first half.
Focus shifts to next fixtures
After this commanding win, the Lakers will turn their attention to their upcoming clash against the New York Knicks on Monday.
Meanwhile, the Wizards will look to bounce back when they face the Sacramento Kings on Sunday.
