Manchester United defender Patrick Dorgu is set to miss several weeks after suffering a hamstring injury during Sunday’s 3-2 Premier League victory over Arsenal.
The 21-year-old, who scored United’s second goal from outside the box, was forced off late in the match. Interim head coach Michael Carrick initially hoped the issue was cramp, but further assessment suggests a more serious injury.

Sources close to the club have confirmed that the Denmark international is still undergoing medical evaluation, with no clear return date yet.
“It is more significant than that,” a club source said, indicating the injury could sideline him for an extended period.
Dorgu’s rise under Michael Carrick
Since joining from Lecce in 2025, Dorgu has impressed in an advanced left-wing role under Carrick.
He has scored in consecutive league wins against Manchester City and Arsenal, highlighting his growing importance in United’s attack.
Busy schedule adds pressure
United are set to play eight Premier League matches before the March international break.
Dorgu is expected to be part of Denmark’s squad for the World Cup play-offs, but his availability will now depend on recovery progress.
Cunha could gain bigger role
With Dorgu sidelined, Matheus Cunha is likely to see increased game time.
Despite starting the last two matches on the bench, Cunha made a decisive impact by scoring the winning goal against Arsenal.
“Matheus has shown he can change games,” Carrick said after the match.
“He’s ready when we need him.”
