Centuries flowed across venues as international stars and domestic performers dominated a run-heavy Round 5

Hardik, Axar, Padikkal Lead Century Parade in Vijay Hazare Trophy Round 5

Round 5 of the Vijay Hazare Trophy delivered another action-packed day of domestic one-day cricket, featuring commanding centuries, dominant chases and a few nail-biting finishes as teams across groups battled for crucial points.

Axar Patel’s All-Round Brilliance Seals Thriller for Gujarat

Axar Patel produced a decisive knock for Gujarat, smashing 130 off 111 balls, studded with 11 fours and five sixes, to propel his side to 318/9 in their allotted 50 overs. Andhra mounted a spirited chase and stayed in contention deep into the innings but ultimately fell seven runs short.
Result:
Gujarat 318/9 (50 overs) beat Andhra by 7 runs

Maharashtra Outclass Mumbai in One-Sided West Zone Clash

Maharashtra delivered a batting masterclass against traditional heavyweights Mumbai, piling up a massive 366/4. Prithvi Shaw set the tone with a brisk 71, while Arshin Kulkarni starred with a superb 114. Captain Ruturaj Gaikwad contributed 66, and Ramakrishna Ghosh remained unbeaten on 64.

Mumbai’s chase never gathered momentum despite fighting knocks from Angkrish Raghuvanshi (92) and Siddhesh Lad (52). The rest of the lineup faltered badly, with Yashasvi Jaiswal managing just 3, as Mumbai were bowled out for 238 in 42 overs.
Result:
Maharashtra 366/4 (50 overs) beat Mumbai 238 all out (42 overs) by 128 runs

Delhi Cruise Past Services with Dominant All-Round Show
Delhi registered a comprehensive win over Services, powered by a strong bowling effort and an explosive chase. Harshit Rana led the attack with 4/47, restricting Services to 178 in 42.5 overs.
In reply, Delhi raced to the target in just 19.4 overs, thanks to unbeaten half-centuries from skipper Rishabh Pant, who blasted 67 off 37 balls (4 fours, 6 sixes), and Priyansh Arya, who struck 72 off 45 deliveries.
Result:
Delhi 182/2 (19.4 overs) beat Services 178 (42.5 overs) by 8 wickets

Tilak Varma’s Century Powers Hyderabad to Big Win

Hyderabad skipper Tilak Varma led from the front with a composed 109 off 118 balls, including six fours and three sixes, guiding his side to 286/9 against Chandigarh. The bowling unit then backed up the effort, with Mohammed Siraj delivering an economical spell of 1/19 in eight overs.
Chandigarh were bowled out for 150 in 37.4 overs, handing Hyderabad a comprehensive victory.
Result:
Hyderabad 286/9 (50 overs) beat Chandigarh 150 (37.4 overs) by 136 runs

Pandya’s Maiden Ton in Vain as Vidarbha Cruise

Hardik Pandya registered his maiden List A century, hammering 133 off 92 balls with eight fours and 11 sixes, lifting Baroda to 293/9 after early trouble.
However, last season’s finalists Vidarbha made light work of the chase. Aman Mokhade played a sensational unbeaten knock of 150, while Dhruv Shorey supported him with an unbeaten 65, as Vidarbha completed the chase with ease in 41.4 overs, losing just one wicket.
Result:
Vidarbha beat Baroda by 9 wickets

Samson, Kunnummal Star as Kerala Chase Down 311
Jharkhand posted a competitive 311/7, built around a superb 143 off 137 balls from Kumar Kushagra, with Anukul Roy adding 72.
Kerala responded with authority. Sanju Samson struck a fluent 101 off 95 balls, while captain Rohan Kunnummal produced a sensational unbeaten 124 off just 78 deliveries, guiding Kerala to an emphatic eight-wicket win in 42.3 overs.
Result:
Kerala beat Jharkhand by 8 wickets

Padikkal’s Fourth Century of Season Guides Karnataka

Karnataka continued their strong campaign with a dominant batting display, finishing on 332/7. Devdutt Padikkal scored his 13th List A century in just 38 matches, making 108 off 120 balls, which was also his fourth hundred of the season.
KL Rahul marked his return with 35 off 28 balls, while Ravichandran Smaran (60) and Abhinav Manohar (79 off 43)* provided late acceleration. Tripura were bowled out for 252 despite Swapnil Singh’s valiant century, with Shreyas Gopal (3/33), Vijaykumar Vyshak (3/54) and Prasidh Krishna among the wickets.
Result:
Karnataka 332/7 beat Tripura 252 by 80 runs

Haryana Stun Odisha with Dramatic Chase

Haryana pulled off a remarkable four-wicket win over Odisha in a thrilling Vijay Hazare Trophy encounter at Alur. Odisha posted a strong 305/9, built around Swastik Samal’s 101 off 102 balls, with Govinda Poddar (77) and Biplab Samantray (47) adding useful support.
Odisha then made early inroads, reducing Haryana to 14/3 and later 133/6, seemingly sealing the game. However, Parth Vats turned the match on its head with a sensational unbeaten 157, combining with Anuj Thakral (59)* to complete a stunning chase.

Haryana reached 309/6 in 48.4 overs, capping a memorable comeback and leaving Odisha to rue a match that slipped away late.

Result:
Haryana beat Odisha by four wickets

Arshdeep Singh Rips Through Sikkim

While batters dominated most venues, Arshdeep Singh delivered a fast-bowling masterclass in Jaipur. The left-arm pacer claimed a sensational five-wicket haul, skittling Sikkim for just 75. Punjab wasted little time in the chase, racing to 81/0 in 6.2 overs to seal a comprehensive 10-wicket victory.

Result: Punjab beat Sikkim by 10 wickets 

Round 5 underlined the depth of India’s domestic talent, with towering centuries, dominant chases and decisive bowling performances shaping a thrilling day of Vijay Hazare Trophy action as teams jostled for momentum heading into the business end of the group stage.
