Verstappen finished third at Monza, behind the two Mercedes cars, helping Red Bull maintain fourth place in the constructors’ standings. Norris and Piastri finished fourth and fifth respectively, giving McLaren a valuable haul of points.
The gap between the leading drivers means the championship is increasingly becoming a battle for second place behind Antonelli, unless Mercedes’ advantage begins to disappear in the remaining rounds.

The Italian Grand Prix has strengthened Antonelli’s championship position, but the 2026 season still has several races remaining.
