Rajasthan shooters Anantjeet Singh Naruka and Darshna Rathore delivered a composed and consistent display to capture the Senior Skeet Mixed Team gold at the 68th National Shooting Championship Competitions (Shotgun), underway at the Dr Karni Singh Shooting Range in New Delhi.
In a gripping gold medal match, the Rajasthan duo held off the challenge from Uttar Pradesh representatives and Olympian Mairaj Ahmad Khan alongside Areeba Khan, sealing the top podium finish with a narrow 45-43 victory.
The bronze medal match also witnessed intense competition, with Haryana’s Raiza Dhillon and Ishaan Singh Libra claiming third place after defeating Madhya Pradesh 41-39.
Meanwhile, in the Junior Skeet Mixed Team event, Telangana shooters Yuvek Battula and Lakku Venkat Lakshmi shared the top honours, each recording 19 hits to secure the title. Madhya Pradesh fell just short despite a strong push, as Jyotiraditya Sisodiya contributed 17 hits and Vanshika Tiwari added 20, finishing a point behind.
The junior bronze went to Punjab’s pair of Harmehar Singh Lally and Parmeet Kaur, who edged Rajasthan’s Yashasvi Rathore and Yashwardhan S Rajawat 40-39 in another close contest.
