India’s top men’s doubles badminton pair, Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty, claimed a crucial victory over Indonesia’s Fajar Alfian and Muhammad Shohibul Fikri at the BWF World Tour Finals 2025 in Hangzhou, China. The Indian duo won the hard-fought contest 21-11, 16-21, 21-11, moving closer to a semifinal berth in the prestigious year-end tournament.
With this result, Satwik and Chirag remain unbeaten in Group B, topping the standings and boosting their chances of progressing to the knockout rounds. The win came after an intense three-game battle, where the Indians dominated early, ceded the second set, then pulled clear strongly in the decider.
Having opened their campaign with a comeback victory in their first match, the experienced Indian pair now look ahead to their final group fixture against Malaysia’s Aaron Chia and Soh Wooi Yik, with a semifinal place firmly in sight.
