Paris Saint-Germain winger Ousmane Dembélé was named FIFA The Best Men’s Player 2025, while Barcelona midfielder Aitana Bonmatí claimed The Best Women’s Player award for the third consecutive year, according to BBC Sport.
England’s Sarina Wiegman was awarded The Best Women’s Coach, and goalkeeper Hannah Hampton took home The Best Women’s Goalkeeper, marking a successful night for the Lionesses.
PSG head coach Luis Enrique guided the club to four trophies during the 2024–25 season, including Ligue 1, the Coupe de France, the Trophee des Champions, and the Champions League. He was named FIFA The Best Men’s Coach, beating Liverpool’s Arne Slot and Barcelona’s Hansi Flick. As Enrique was absent from the ceremony, assistant manager Rafel Pol Cabanellas accepted the award on his behalf.
PSG goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma was named The Best Men’s Goalkeeper after a key role in the club’s Champions League-winning campaign.
Other awards included the Puskás Award, won by Club Atlético Independiente’s Santiago Montiel for the best men’s goal of the year, and the Marta Award, claimed by Mexico’s Lizbeth Ovalle for her spectacular reverse scorpion kick.
Arsenal and England midfielder Declan Rice was also shortlisted for his remarkable free-kicks in the Champions League quarter-finals, highlighting the depth of talent recognised at the ceremony.
The 2025 FIFA The Best Awards celebrated the finest individual achievements in football, honouring players, coaches, and goalkeepers across both men’s and women’s competitions.
