Paris Saint-Germain booked their place in the 2026 UEFA Champions League final after battling to a 1-1 draw against Bayern Munich in the semifinal second leg, securing a thrilling 6-5 aggregate victory.
The defending champions produced a disciplined performance at the Allianz Arena to eliminate Bayern and set up a highly anticipated final showdown against Arsenal later this month in Budapest.
PSG struck early through Ballon d’Or winner Ousmane Dembele, who capitalised on a swift counterattack in the third minute after being set up by Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. The goal gave Luis Enrique’s side a crucial cushion and forced Bayern to chase the game for the remainder of the night.
Bayern Munich dominated possession and created several opportunities, but PSG’s organised defensive structure and key saves from goalkeeper Matvei Safonov kept the German giants at bay for long periods. Harry Kane eventually found a stoppage-time equaliser for Bayern, extending his remarkable scoring streak in the competition, but the late strike came too late to change the outcome.
The result sends PSG into their second consecutive Champions League final and keeps alive hopes of back-to-back European titles under Luis Enrique. The French club previously lifted the trophy in 2025 and now have the chance to further cement their growing European legacy.
For Bayern Munich, the defeat marks a painful end to their Champions League campaign despite an otherwise impressive season under Vincent Kompany. The German side will now shift focus toward domestic success, with the DFB-Pokal final remaining their final opportunity for silverware this season.
PSG will now face Arsenal in the final at Budapest’s Puskás Aréna on May 30. Arsenal reached their first Champions League final in 20 years after defeating Atletico Madrid in the other semifinal.
The upcoming final promises to be one of the most exciting in recent years, with Arsenal chasing their first-ever Champions League title while PSG aim to defend their European crown.
