The India vs Pakistan Women’s Junior Asia Cup 2026 quarter-final turned into a one-sided contest as the Indian Junior Women’s Hockey Team defeated Pakistan 19-0 in Moqi, China, on Thursday, September 10. The defending champions produced a relentless attacking display to secure their place in the semi-finals of the 2026 Women’s Junior Asia Cup.
India controlled the match from the opening whistle and scored five goals in the first quarter, five more in the second, three in the third and six in the final quarter. Pakistan were unable to find a response as India maintained pressure throughout the 60 minutes.
The victory also extended India’s impressive campaign in the tournament. After finishing the Elite Pool stage unbeaten with three wins and a draw, India entered the knockout stage as pool leaders and carried that momentum into the quarter-final.

India started aggressively and earned two penalty corners inside the opening five minutes. Although both chances went unconverted, India continued to dominate possession and territory.
Puja Sahoo eventually opened the scoring in the seventh minute through a penalty corner. Roshni Aind then scored a field goal in the ninth minute before Tanushree Dinesh Kadu added another through a deflection in the 11th minute.
Sukhveer Kaur converted a penalty stroke in the 13th minute to make it 4-0, before Sanika Chandrakant Mane added India’s fifth goal in the 15th minute.
India continued the onslaught in the second quarter. Madhu Sidar scored in the 16th minute, followed by Geeta Yadav in the 18th. Sanika completed her brace in the 23rd minute, while Tanuja Toppo and Pooja Malik added further goals in the 25th and 27th minutes respectively.
India went into half-time with a commanding 10-0 lead after earning eight penalty corners and a penalty stroke in the opening 30 minutes.

India showed no signs of slowing down after the interval. Purnima Yadav scored through a deflection in the 33rd minute to make it 11-0, while Madhu Sidar added her second goal of the match in the 39th minute.
Supriya then converted a penalty corner in the 40th minute as India entered the final quarter with a 13-0 advantage.
The final quarter produced another six Indian goals. Krishna Sharma opened the scoring in the 48th minute before Pooja Malik struck twice in the 49th and 51st minutes to complete her hat-trick.
Supriya converted another penalty corner in the 54th minute for her second goal, followed by Binima Dhan’s field goal in the 55th minute. Roshni Aind completed her brace in the final minute to seal India’s 19-0 victory.
India’s Complete Control Against Pakistan
The statistics reflected India’s dominance. The Indian side scored 19 goals while earning 18 penalty corners and one penalty stroke. Pakistan, meanwhile, did not register a goal, penalty corner or penalty stroke during the match.
The result was also a strong response after India’s goalless draw against China in their final Elite Pool match on September 9. Despite that draw, India had finished top of the pool on goal difference after collecting 10 points from three wins and one draw.
Earlier in the tournament, India had defeated Korea 4-1, Malaysia 11-1 and Japan 7-0 before drawing 0-0 against China.
India’s Semi-Final Opponent Confirmed Next
With the 19-0 victory, India have booked their place in the semi-finals of the Women’s Junior Asia Cup 2026. The defending champions will face the winner of the quarter-final between Korea and Malaysia on September 12.
India are now one step closer to another appearance in the tournament final as they continue their title defence in China.
