Manchester United face Brighton at Old Trafford this evening with injury concerns clouding manager Rúben Amorim’s team selection.
Harry Maguire and Mason Mount, both instrumental in last week’s dramatic win over Liverpool, are doubts after picking up minor knocks in training. Amorim confirmed the pair will be assessed before kickoff, saying:
“We had some issues in the week with Harry and Mason — nothing serious, but we’ll see tomorrow.”
Meanwhile, Lisandro Martinez continues his recovery from a long-term knee injury. Though the Argentine is back in full training, Amorim insists he will not be rushed, noting:
“He’s training really well, the knee looks strong, but we won’t set a return date yet.”
If Maguire fails to make it, Leny Yoro is expected to step into United’s back three alongside Matthijs de Ligt and Luke Shaw. Benjamin Šeško could return to lead the line, with Matheus Cunha dropping deeper should Mount miss out.
Amorim may also rotate his wing-backs, with Noussair Mazraoui or Patrick Dorgu ready to feature if Diogo Dalot is rested. In midfield, Manuel Ugarte is pushing for inclusion, while captain Bruno Fernandes — set to make his 300th appearance — remains central to United’s attack.
Senne Lammens, who has impressed since taking over as first-choice goalkeeper, is expected to start again.
Predicted Manchester United XI (3-4-2-1):
Lammens; De Ligt, Yoro, Shaw; Amad, Casemiro, Fernandes, Dalot; Mbeumo, Cunha; Šeško
Doubts: Maguire, Mount
Injured: Martinez
Kick-off: 5.30 pm BST, Saturday, October 25
Venue: Old Trafford
