Premier Indian red-ball domestic competition – Duleep Trophy – is set to start from August 28 onwards. North Zone take on East Zone at the BCCI Centre of Excellence Ground, Bengaluru. The other quarter-final clash is between Central Zone and North East Zone at the BCCI Centre of Excellence Ground B, Bengaluru.
The winner of these matches will face South Zone and West Zone respectively in the semis. The semi-finals start from September 4 onwards. Lastly, the final will be held from September 11 onwards.
India’s Test skipper Shubman Gill is set to lead North Zone. Wicketkeeper batter Dhruv Jurel will lead Central Zone. Ishan Kishan has been tasked with leading East Zone. Tilak Varma will lead South Zone with Shardul Thakur taking charge of West Zone.

As per ESPNcricinfo, the highest team total in the Duleep Trophy belongs to North Zone, who managed 868 versus West Zone in 1987. Meanwhile, the lowest team total is owned by North Zone and East Zone respectively. Both sides perished for 48 against South Zone in 1961 and 1969 respectively.
