The 2025 edition of the US Open will see Novak Djokovic make his 19th season appearance at the Flushing Meadows in New York. Interestingly, the Serbian tennis ace won his last career men’s singles Grand Slam title at the US Open back in 2023. It was the same year he lifted three Grand Slam honours and was a runner-up at Wimbledon.
Djokovic has gone without a Grand Slam honour in his last two seasons. He has just made one final appearance in this period dominated by Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner who are the two big guns at this moment.
Djokovic has enjoyed playing the US Open and interestingly he won his first title here in his 7th attempt. That was also his 3rd final by then.
A winner of 24 men’s singles Grand Slam titles, Djokovic is chasing an elusive 25th which will make him the most successful person in tennis history (men’s and women’s singles). He can steer clear of Margaret Court, who won 24 women’s singles Grand Slams.
Here are the key records held by Djokovic at the US Open as we also decode his numbers.
Most finals in men’s singles at US Open (Open Era)
Djokovic is a four-time US Open winner. He lifted the trophy here in 2011, 2015, 2018 and 2023. In addition to 4 titles, he has been a six-time runner-up. In total, he has been in 10 men’s singles US Open finals. This is the most by a player in this category. Pete Sampras and Ivan Lendl are next with eight finals each.
Joint 2nd-most titles at US Open (Open Era)
Djokovic owns the joint 2nd-most titles at US Open alongside Rafael Nadal and John McEnroe. If Djokovic wins the 2025 title, he will own the joint-most titles alongside Federer, Pete Sampras and Jimmy Connors.

At 36 years 3 months and 19 days, Djokovic is the oldest US Open men’s singles champion in the Open Era.
