Bhubaneswar : India’s U-20 freestyle wrestling team delivered a remarkable performance at the 2025. U-20 Wrestling Championship in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, clinching the second position overall. The Indian contingent concluded the event with a total score of 157 points, finishing just behind Iran, which secured the championship title.
The Indian team’s achievement was underpinned by two gold, one silver, and five bronze medals across different weight categories. This strong medal haul highlights the country’s continued emergence as a major force in junior wrestling on the Asian and world stage.
The U-20 team’s impressive outing included standout performances that propelled them ahead of several other top wrestling nations. Their consistent results across weight classes and the breadth of medalists demonstrated both the squad’s depth and growing technical prowess.
