Igor Tudor has been charged with misconduct after accusing referee Thomas Bramall of favouring the home side during Tottenham’s 2-1 defeat to Fulham.
The interim Spurs boss made the comments after the 1 March clash, calling Bramall a “home referee” and claiming he “doesn’t understand football”.
Tudor was particularly frustrated with Fulham’s opening goal. He felt Raul Jimenez fouled Radu Dragusin before Harry Wilson scored.
“I didn’t like the referee today,” Tudor said. “All the decisions were on their side.”
The Football Association confirmed the charge, stating Tudor’s comments questioned the integrity and impartiality of a match official.
Spurs and Tudor have until Monday to respond.
Pressure mounting at Spurs
The controversy comes during a difficult spell for Tottenham. Tudor has struggled since replacing Thomas Frank, with the team now on a 10-game winless run in the league.
They currently sit 16th in the table, just one point above the relegation zone.
Recent results have only added to the pressure, including a heavy 5-2 defeat to Atletico Madrid in the Champions League.
With eight matches left, Spurs face a real fight to avoid relegation — a drop that could reportedly cost the club over £250m.
