[Watch]Neeraj Chopra Hails Roger Federer as Role Model During Wimbledon Visit

London: Olympic champion Neeraj Chopra made a striking appearance at the 2025 Wimbledon men’s singles final, where he revealed his admiration for tennis icon Roger Federer, calling him a personal inspiration both on and off the field.

In a candid interaction with Star Sports on the sidelines of the event, Chopra said,

“Roger Federer is a very solid athlete. What inspires me most is how grounded he is despite achieving so much. That’s something I really respect and try to learn from.

The 26-year-old javelin thrower, who has brought India global acclaim with Olympic and World Championship gold medals, was experiencing Wimbledon live for the first time and was visibly thrilled by the energy at Centre Court.

Also in attendance was Bollywood actress and Punjab Kings co-owner Preity Zinta, who was spotted enjoying the match with her husband. Zinta’s presence added a touch of Bollywood glamour to the star-studded stands, which featured sports and entertainment personalities from around the world.

A Meeting Point of Icons

Chopra’s presence at Wimbledon symbolized a confluence of sporting greatness across disciplines. His words about Federer reflect the deep mutual respect that elite athletes share, regardless of their sport.

Federer, who retired in 2022 with 20 Grand Slam titles and a legacy as one of tennis’s most graceful ambassadors, continues to inspire younger generations. Chopra’s tribute underscored Federer’s impact not only through his achievements but also through his character.

Sinner Triumphs at Wimbledon 2025

The final match witnessed a historic moment as Italy’s Jannik Sinner clinched his maiden Wimbledon title, defeating defending champion Carlos Alcaraz in four sets. The match was a fitting conclusion to a tournament that blended sporting excellence with global celebrity attendance.
