Carlos Alcaraz has been using his off-days at the Australian Open to unwind with a game of golf. After his 7-6 (7-4), 6-3, 6-2 second-round victory over Yannick Hanfmann, the 22-year-old revealed he recently played a round with Roger Federer.

Golf session with Federer
Speaking about the experience, Alcaraz said, “Everything he does is in style, really beautiful.” He added that Federer has already beaten him on the course. “He’s been playing for two years and his level is really good. I’ve been playing for five and he’s already beaten me.”

Focus remains on tennis
Despite enjoying his time on the fairways, the Spaniard insisted tennis comes first. “Tennis comes first” – Alcaraz said ahead of his third-round clash against Corentin Moutet. “I will probably practise a little because I want to be better in the next round, but the golf courses are waiting for me.”

Gauff’s mini golf fun
Meanwhile, Coco Gauff shared a lighter moment from her break. “Mini golf with dad” – Gauff joked after losing to her father. “I lost $50 to him, so that was good.”

Rublev’s recovery routine
Russian player Andrey Rublev explained his simple post-match schedule. “Ice bath, coffee, sleep” – Rublev said. “Ice bath, then coffee, sleep, coffee, sleep, practice and sleep. That’s it.”

Potapova stays focused
For Anastasia Potapova, there is no time to relax. “Only business” – Potapova said after beating Emma Raducanu. “Tomorrow we play doubles, so no days off.”
