Danny Rohl says he has “total belief” Rangers can win the Scottish Premiership title but insists consistency will determine whether they stay in the race.
Since taking charge in October, Rohl has overseen a surge that has delivered 46 points from a possible 57. Last weekend’s 4-2 victory over Hearts moved Rangers FC to within two points of the summit.
Belief backed by recent form
Rohl believes the squad now has the strength to challenge but stressed his side must maintain intensity ahead of Sunday’s trip to Livingston.
“We totally believe we can do it,” he said. “But we are still second, not first. The last couple of weeks were fantastic – now we must continue.”
Title rivals Celtic FC sit a point behind Rangers with a game in hand, adding further pressure to an increasingly tight race at the top.
Souttar signs as injuries linger
Rangers confirmed Scotland defender John Souttar has extended his contract until the end of next season, with the option of an additional year. Rohl highlighted the importance of retaining leaders within the squad as the club looks to build stability.
The manager is expected to make “two or three changes” this weekend due to injuries, though Connor Barron and Derek Cornelius are progressing in their recovery and could return to contention in March.
With momentum building and the title race finely poised, Rohl’s side know that any slip could prove costly in the weeks ahead.
