American rapper Snoop Dogg has said he wants to help turn Swansea City into a “global name” as part of his growing involvement with the Championship club.
The 54-year-old became a minority shareholder in Swansea last year and is now keen to play an active role in the club’s future.
Hands-On Role in Club’s Growth
Snoop Dogg revealed that he wants to be closely involved in helping Swansea move forward both on and off the pitch.
“I want to be real hands on and take the club in a new direction,” he told Wales Online.
“We want to reach the Premier League, and for that we need strong financial support.”
With more than 100 million followers on social media, Snoop believes he can help attract sponsors and international attention to the Welsh club.
Using Global Fame to Boost Income
The rapper, who has sold over 30 million albums worldwide, plans to use his worldwide popularity to increase Swansea’s commercial value.
“I want to introduce sponsorship deals and publicity,” he said. “That will help make Swansea a global name.”
Although he has not yet attended a match in person, his son Cordell Broadus was present during Swansea’s draw against Watford last season.
Club officials have said Snoop is expected to visit the Swansea.com Stadium later this season.
Fans and Future Ambitions
Snoop Dogg also expressed his desire to connect with Swansea supporters and understand their expectations.
“I want to meet the fans,” he said. “They are passionate and real. I want to hear what they have to say.”
Swansea’s ownership group, which includes Luka Modric and Martha Stewart, believes that bringing in high-profile figures will help raise the club’s profile and attract new investment.
With strong backing and growing global attention, Swansea hope Snoop Dogg’s involvement can support their long-term aim of returning to the Premier League.
