Perth: Belinda Bencic and Stan Wawrinka produced commanding performances as Switzerland registered a comprehensive 3–0 victory over France in their United Cup group-stage clash, underlining the depth and experience of the Swiss lineup.
According to AFP, Bencic gave Switzerland a perfect start by defeating Léolia Jeanjean in straight sets. The Olympic champion showed composure and control from the baseline, wrapping up the contest efficiently to put early pressure on the French camp.
Veteran Stan Wawrinka then sealed the tie in dramatic fashion. As reported by AFP, the three-time Grand Slam champion battled past Arthur Rinderknech in a tense three-set encounter, relying on his experience in key moments, including two decisive tie-breaks.
