A proud moment for Haryana’s archery community: promising young archer Bhavana has been selected to represent the state at the upcoming Senior National Archery Championship, scheduled from 11 to 18 December in Hyderabad.
From Local Nursery to National Stage
Bhavana, who trains at the sports nursery located at Subhash Stadium, recently cleared the state trials held in Jind. Her selection is the result of consistent performance and disciplined training under coach Vinay Kumar — a testimony to the region’s growing archery culture.
She has previously earned two silver medals at the All–India University Championship along with several other podium finishes at various state- and national-level events.
A Proud Goal — And A Hopeful Mindset
Coach Vinay Kumar expressed high hopes for Bhavana’s performance, highlighting her regular practice regime at the nursery and her readiness to rise to national-standard competition.
Bhavana herself shared her excitement about this milestone. Though this is her first major national-level tournament, she believes that her past experiences will help her perform under pressure. Committed to giving her best, she aims to make her state proud.
What This Means — More Than Just Selection
Bhavana’s selection highlights the strength and potential of grassroots sporting infrastructure in Haryana. In recent years, despite limited resources, the archery nursery at Narnaul’s Subhash Stadium has helped produce many talented archers — a fact underlined by the 35 medals won by its students over four years.
Bhavana now joins a growing list of athletes from the region stepping onto national platforms, reinforcing the belief that with dedication and support, regional talent can shine at the highest levels.
Ahead to Hyderabad — Eyes on the Prize
As Bhavana prepares to leave for Hyderabad later this month, her supporters — coaches, family, and local sports enthusiasts — will be watching closely. A strong performance at the Senior Nationals would not only boost her career but also inspire more young archers from Narnaul and surrounding areas.
For now, all hopes are pinned on her bow and aim — may Haryana’s newest national-level archer bring home pride, experience, and possibly a medal.
