Victoria will field one of its strongest junior squads yet as the 2025 Chemist Warehouse Australian Athletics All Schools Championships return to Lakeside Stadium from December 4–7. With a blend of world-level Para-athletes, national champions and promising middle-distance and field event specialists, Team VIC is primed to put on a show in front of a home crowd.
Kirra Wright – Para Sprint & Shot Put Phenom
School: Assumption College
Events: U20 Para 100m, 200m, 400m, Shot Put
At just 17, World Para Athletics Championships medallist Kirra Wright will be one of the headline attractions. Fresh off a silver medal in the Shot Put F36 in New Delhi, Wright also reached the 100m T36 final. With her classification no longer having throwing events at the 2028 Paralympics, Wright is shifting her attention to the track—where she will look to dominate the sprints and continue her rapid ascent.
Lucas Chis – Middle-Distance Marvel
School: Waverley Christian College
Events: U18 1500m
Smooth, composed and blisteringly fast, 17-year-old Lucas Chis has emerged as one of Australia’s most exciting young middle-distance runners. His 3:43.70 personal best over 1500m—set before his 17th birthday—highlights his world-class potential. The Lakeside Stadium showdown will be a key stepping stone toward his ultimate 2026 goal: the World Athletics U20 Championships in Eugene, Oregon.
Jamison Harding – Pole Vault Prodigy
School: Yarra Valley Grammar
Events: U17 Pole Vault, 100m Hurdles
One of the youngest Australians ever to clear four metres in pole vault, Jamison Harding is a rare multi-event talent. With a 4.10m personal best and a national Under 17 100m Hurdles title, she consistently performs on the big stage. Expect Harding to be a major contender across both events as she continues her rise.
Karla Boras – Dual Threat in the Jumps
School: Sacred Heart College Geelong
Events: U18 Triple Jump, Long Jump
A dominant presence in the horizontal jumps, Karla Boras returns with personal bests of 12.84m (triple jump) and 5.90m (long jump). The reigning Australian U18 champion in both events, Boras is determined to keep the national titles in Victoria while also targeting the 13.00m qualifying standard for the 2026 World U20 Championships—following the path of her sister Tiana, a 2022 World U20 bronze medallist.
Ela Uzun – Race Walk Record-Breaker
School: St Monica’s College
Events: U17 5000m Race Walk
One of the youngest standout performers, 14-year-old Ela Uzun is rewriting junior record books. She set an Under 16 national record of 22:57 in the 5km Race Walk earlier this year, then lowered her personal best to 22:42.45 at the Victorian All Schools Championships. Uzun arrives in Melbourne as one of the key athletes to beat in her age group.
Victoria’s lineup blends experience, national accolades and raw emerging talent—setting the stage for an exciting week of athletics as the state’s best young competitors defend home ground with pride.
