India’s compound archers delivered a standout performance at the 2025 Asian Archery Championships in Dhaka, returning with an impressive tally of five medals — three gold and two silver. Leading the charge was Jyothi Surekha Vennam, whose experience and precision powered India to multiple podium finishes.
Jyothi shone brightest in the women’s individual event, edging out teenage compatriot Prithika Pradeep in a closely fought all-India final. She carried this momentum into the women’s team event, where she, Prithika and Deepshikha produced a near-flawless display to overcome a strong Korean challenge and strike gold.
India’s mixed team also rose to the occasion, with Abhishek Verma and Deepshikha holding their nerve to topple hosts Bangladesh in a tight contest. On the men’s side, Verma teamed up with Sahil Jadhav and Prathamesh Fuge to claim silver after a narrow loss to Kazakhstan.
The performances underline India’s rising dominance in compound archery — a blend of seasoned leadership, emerging talent and enviable depth. With such consistency across categories, India has firmly signalled its ambition to stay among Asia’s elite in the sport.
