Paris 2024 medal winners Manu Bhaker and Swapnil Kusale will spearhead India’s 40-member contingent at the ISSF World Championship Rifle/Pistol 2025, set to begin in Cairo.
The championship, hosted at Egypt’s International Olympic City, will see participation from around 720 shooters representing 72 countries. The event runs through November 17 and serves as a key test of consistency and depth in world shooting ahead of the next Olympic cycle.
Manu Bhaker, a two-time Olympic medallist, leads India’s pistol squad, supported by in-form shooters such as Esha Singh and Suruchi Singh. In the rifle category, Kusale will front India’s challenge, particularly in the 50m Rifle 3 Positions event, where he is among the global frontrunners.
Other notable names in the Indian lineup include Elavenil Valarivan (Women’s 10m Air Rifle), Sift Kaur Samra (Women’s 50m Rifle 3 Positions), Arjun Babuta (Men’s 10m Air Rifle), Anish Bhanwala (Men’s 25m Pistol), and Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar (Men’s 50m Rifle 3 Positions).
India’s shooters have delivered a strong 2025 season so far, collecting medals across multiple ISSF World Cups — including Buenos Aires, Lima, Munich, and Ningbo — and head to Cairo with both confidence and momentum.
