India Crush Pakistan by 88 Runs in Women’s World Cup Thriller

Bhubaneswar: In a commanding performance at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo, India Women (IND-W) defeated Pakistan Women (PAK-W) by 88 runs in Match 6 of the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025. Posting a total of 247, India set a challenging target that Pakistan couldn’t match, being bowled out for 159.

India’s innings was anchored by Harleen Deol, who top-scored with 46 runs off 65 balls, while Richa Ghosh added a quick 35 off 20 balls to accelerate the scoring in the latter stages. “It was crucial to build partnerships and keep the momentum,” Deol said after the match.

Chasing 248, Pakistan saw a heroic effort from Sidra Amin, who made 81 runs off 106 balls—the highest individual score by a Pakistani against India in women’s ODIs. However, wickets fell at regular intervals, with Kranti Gaud taking 3/20 and Deepti Sharma claiming 3/54, leaving Pakistan struggling throughout their innings. Deepti also dismissed Rameen Shamim for a golden duck, further crippling the chase.

India captain Harmanpreet Kaur contributed in the field as well, running out Daina Baig with a direct hit for 9, sealing Pakistan’s fate. With this win, India has now won 12 consecutive ODIs against Pakistan, continuing their dominance in the rivalry.
