Ahmedabad : India firmly took control on Day 2 of the first Test against the West Indies, finishing at 448/5 and establishing a commanding 286-run lead. KL Rahul, Dhruv Jurel, and Ravindra Jadeja all scored centuries, putting India in a strong position to win the match.
KL Rahul set the tone with his 11th Test century, his first on home soil in nearly nine years, sharing a 98-run partnership with Shubman Gill, who made 50. Dhruv Jurel followed with a composed maiden Test century of 125, featuring 15 fours and three sixes, before being dismissed by debutant spinner Khary Pierre. Ravindra Jadeja remained unbeaten on 104, hitting six fours and five sixes, celebrating his milestone with his iconic sword gesture.
India’s dominant batting display, combined with a weakened West Indies attack missing key pacers Alzarri Joseph and Shamar Joseph, has left the visitors facing a steep challenge on a deteriorating pitch. With three centurions at the crease and a massive lead, India looks set to secure a 1-0 series advantage.
