New Delhi : Indian shooters showcased their rising prowess at the ISSF Junior World Cup 2025, currently underway at the Dr Karni Singh Shooting Range in New Delhi, by securing five medals including a remarkable clean sweep in the women’s 50m prone rifle event.Anushka Thokur won the gold medal after a stellar performance, narrowly edging out her compatriot Anshik who took silver. The bronze went to Aadhya Agrawal, completing an all-Indian podium in the women’s event—a proud moment for the host nation.In the men’s 50m prone event, Deependra Singh Shekhawat earned a silver, finishing just one point behind gold medallist Kamil Nuriakhmetov. Rohit Kanyan rounded out the medal tally with a bronze in the men’s competition.The event, running until October 2, has attracted a large field of 208 shooters from 19 federations worldwide, with India fielding a strong contingent of 69 junior shooters. This 11th edition of the ISSF Junior World Cup marks the first time the prestigious competition is being hosted in India, highlighting the country’s growing stature in the sport of shooting.The strong showing by Indian juniors in New Delhi is a promising sign for the future of Indian shooting on the world stage.
