Australia Women have recorded a massive score of 412/10 in the 3rd and final ODI against India at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. Both sides came into this match with the series levelled 1-1. After electing to bat, Australia made merry from the start, getting off to a strong start on a flat deck and maintaining the momentum throughout their innings.
Australia get to a record 412 versus India
The Australian women’s cricket team saw openers Alyssa Healy and Georgia Voll, who added 43 runs inside 5 overs. After Healy departed for 30, Voll was joined by Ellyse Perry and the two forged a 107-run stand. Voll perished for 81 in the 22nd over with Australia 150/2. Another century-plus stand followed between Perry and Beth Mooney helped Australia Women maintain their grip over India.
Perry scored 68 runs before Mooney continued to march on getting 138 runs. Ashleigh Gardner also chipped in with a score of 39 runs from 24 balls. Australia Women were bowled out in 47.5 overs.
Mooney shines with majestic 138 runs
Mooney had the magic wand in her hand as she slammed a career-best 138. Her knock was laced with 23 fours and a six. She consumed 75 balls and struck at 184. This was Mooney’s 4th ODI hundred and a 2nd against India. As per ESPNcricinfo, she is now the 3rd Aussie with multiple ODI tons against India. She also posted the highest individual score by an Aussie batter against India in Women’s ODIs.
2nd 400-plus team total for Australia in Women’s ODIs
As per ESPNcricinfo, For the 2nd time in their ODI history, Australia Women have recorded a 400-plus total. The last time they scored in excess of 400 in a Women’s ODI was back in 1997 against Denmark Women. They had posted a score of 412/3 in that contest held in Mumbai.
