Rajgir : Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has announced a cash reward of ₹10 lakh for every player of the Indian men’s hockey team following their spectacular victory at the Asia Cup 2025. The team clinched the title with an impressive 4-1 win over South Korea in the final held at Rajgir’s State Sports Academy-cum-Bihar Sports University campus—a first-time host for this prestigious event.
This triumph not only ended India’s eight-year title drought but also secured direct entry for the team into the 2026 FIH World Cup, jointly hosted by Belgium and the Netherlands. In a gesture of encouragement and appreciation, Nitish Kumar also declared a ₹5 lakh honorarium for each member of the support staff who contributed to this historic win.
The Chief Minister expressed pride in the team’s performance, highlighting how the victory has filled the nation with pride and boosted the morale of athletes across the country. This announcement by the Bihar government aims to further promote sporting excellence and inspire young talents nationwide.
