Djokovic fell short against number two seed Carlos Alcaraz at the Arthur Ashe Stadium. Alcaraz won the contest in straight sets, defeating Djokovic 6-4, 7-6, 6-2. In this absorbing two-hour and 25-minute clash, the Serbian star couldn’t come up triumphs to what Alcaraz offered.
Spaniard Alcaraz reached his 3rd successive Grand Slam final in 2025. He won the French Open before losing the summit clash at Wimbledon. Overall, he made it to his 7th career Grand Slam final. He owns a 5-1 record in Slam finals and is chasing his 6th crown. The 2022 US Open winner was too good for Djokovic and ended the veteran’s hopes of reaching a 38th Grand Slam final.
Djokovic saw Alcaraz improve to 4-5 in terms of the H2H record on the ATP Tour. Alcaraz is in fine form and extended his winning streak to 12 matches. Recently, he won the Cincinnati Open final.
