Bhubaneswar : The All India Football Federation (AIFF) and Football Sports Development Limited (FSDL) have submitted a joint proposal to the Supreme Court to start the 2025-26 Indian football season with the Super Cup in September, followed by the Indian Super League (ISL) in December 2025.
As part of this plan, AIFF will conduct an open and transparent tender by October 15 to select the commercial partner for the ISL. FSDL has agreed to waive its rights to negotiate or match bids and will issue a no-objection certificate to allow this process.
The Super Cup will ensure clubs stay match-fit before the ISL kicks off, while the season’s overall structure aims to bring clarity and continuity amid ongoing legal and commercial uncertainties.
The Supreme Court will give its verdict on the AIFF constitution case by September 1, but this proposal provides a clear path forward to avoid disruption for players, clubs, broadcasters, and sponsors in Indian football for the coming season.
